It looks like our Dutch fans do like to build a Yamaha XS750 Cafe Racer, since we’ve received another story just a brief moment after Hans Dijselbloem presented us with his Yamaha XS750 Café Racer project.
Today it is Onno’s turn to share his story.
He bought a Yamaha XS750 to start with. I quote: “An ugly chopper to chop it into pieces.”
He really want to rebuild it from the bottom up and and he did!
Working on the seat and tank. Sanding, sanding, sanding, sanding. We all know the drill!
It is also smart to test if everything will still fit the bike. It does!
Nice flashy paintjob on the frame
Onno added some nice parts and Megatone exhausts on the XS
Next to this, his aim was to keep it as low-budget as possible. The real Café Racer spirit I guess!
The bike is painted with a combination of ink, all sorts of pigments and is finished with a 2k clear car coating.
This wasn’t his first project, and he recently finished a XS1100 for his brother-in-law as well.
The finished bike!
Besides a XS750 and a XS1100, he also is the owner of a XS850. Truly a XS fan, this Onno 🙂
The XS750 has been updated a lot and the XS850 is already in his ownership for over 22 years!
He is also a big Ben Bostrom fan, and wanted to share his special Ben Bostrom R1 as well. Well, for this time, since Ben is also a huge Café Racer fan (As we could have seen in the Café Racer TV series) we make a exception.
Ben Bostrom enjoying a Cafe Racer 🙂
Thanks for sharing your story Onno.
